Outcome | Explain to the examiner what these words mean to you: History, Archaeology and Archaeologist. What is an artefact? Name two artefacts that were found and do we still have them today? |
Resources | Broken pottery Glue or plasticine to stick the pottery together |
Instructions | First discuss the concepts of History, Archeology and Archeologist. Then ask the Cubs about an artefact. See if they can name two or more artefacts that were found and if they are still around today. The pottery should be scattered around an area. The Cubs need to match pieces and first sort like with like. Then, they need to put the pottery back together again. They can glue it or stick together with salt dough/plasticine or similar. |
