| Outcome | Putting out fire by removing oxygen |
| Resources | Candles Matches Jug Bicarb of soda Vinegar |
| Instructions | First, light some candles. Explain that fire needs three things: 1. spark (match), 2. fuel (wick and wax) and 3. oxygen. To put out a fire, you need to remove one of these. In a jug, put some bicarb and add vinegar. The result will be carbon dioxide gas. Use the jug to "pour" the gas over the flames and watch the candles be extinguished. |
